This past November the iconic album ‘Sex, Dope And Cheap Thrills’ was rereleased and re-celebrated! ‘Cheap Thrills’ was a breakout album for Janis Joplin, and her final with Big Brother And The Holding Company. The album and it’s massive hits like “Piece Of My Heart,” “Summertime,” “I Need A Man To Love” and “Ball And Chain” are a time capsule for 1968. Original drummer and vocalist David Getz and original bass player and vocalist Peter Albin lead the band for this special tour. “Cheap Thrills seems to have stood the test of time,” Getz writes in the liner notes. “It might be because it is arguably the greatest work by a great artist, Janis Joplin. It is certainly the greatest and closest representation of what Big Brother [And] The Holding Company was as a band…”
